Vital Edge Pty Ltd ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. We recognize that to provide you with deep biohacking insights and AI-driven health interventions, you must trust us with your most sensitive biological data.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Vital Edge mobile application (the "App") and our related services. It complies with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
1. The Data We Collect
We collect different types of data to power our "Intervention Engine."
1.1. Information You Give Us
- Identity Data: Name, email address, age, gender.
- Bio-Profile: Your specific health goals (e.g., "cognitive performance," "muscle recovery"), dietary preferences, and self-reported logs (e.g., morning readiness, perceived stress).
- Corporate Context: If you join through an employer pilot, we may collect an Employee ID or Department Code to verify your eligibility.
1.2. Data from Your Wearables (The "Inputs")
With your explicit permission, we connect to third-party APIs (Apple HealthKit, Google Fit, Oura, Whoop) to ingest biometric data, including but not limited to:
- Sleep: Duration, stages (REM/Deep), latency.
- Recovery: Heart Rate Variability (HRV), Resting Heart Rate (RHR), Respiratory Rate.
- Activity: Steps, workout intensity, calories burned.
1.3. Device & Usage Data
We collect technical data about your device (model, OS version) and how you interact with the App to fix bugs and improve performance.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to move beyond "tracking" into "intervention."
2.1. To Provide Personalised Insights
We process your biometric and subjective data to:
- Calculate your daily "Vital Edge Score" and "Biological Age" estimate.
- Generate specific, actionable recommendations (e.g., "Your HRV is low; consider a cold plunge today").
- Visualise your progress over time.
2.2. Artificial Intelligence (AI) & The "Intervention Engine"
Our App uses Large Language Models (LLMs) to analyze your data and generate educational content.
Inference (Your Results): When we ask the AI to analyze your daily stats, we send de-identified metrics. We strip your name and email before the data touches the AI model.
Training (Our Improvements): We generally use your data to provide you with insights. If we use data to train or fine-tune our internal AI models to make them smarter, we strictly use only de-identified, aggregated data. We will never use your identifiable personal health information to train public AI models.
2.3. Marketplace Fulfillment
If you buy products (supplements, gear) through the App:
- We share your Shipping & Order Details with the third-party vendor so they can deliver the item.
- We do NOT share your health data (e.g., why you bought the sleep supplement) with these vendors.
3. The "Corporate Firewall" (For Pilot Participants)
If you are using Vital Edge as part of a Corporate Wellness Pilot provided by your employer:
3.1. Your Individual Data is Private
Your employer does NOT have access to your individual dashboard. They cannot see your specific Sleep Score, your HRV, your "Biological Age," or your journal entries.
3.2. Aggregated Reporting
We provide employers with high-level Group Reports only (e.g., "The Sales Team’s average sleep duration increased by 10%").
Minimum Threshold: To protect your anonymity, we will never generate a group report for a cohort of fewer than five (5) users. If a group is too small, the data is suppressed to prevent re-identification.
3.3. No Employment Decisions
We contractually prohibit employers from using Vital Edge data for performance management, hiring, or firing decisions.
4. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We only disclose data in the following limited situations:
- Service Providers: To trusted cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure) who host our secure infrastructure.
- Legal Obligations: If required by Australian law or a valid court order.
- Business Transfers: If Vital Edge is involved in a merger or acquisition, data may be transferred to the new owners under the same privacy protections.
Restriction on Wearable Data: Data collected via Apple HealthKit or Google Fit APIs is never sold to data brokers or used for advertising purposes.
5. Security & Retention
Security: We use enterprise-grade encryption for data in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). Access to sensitive health data is restricted to essential engineering staff only.
Retention: We keep your data as long as your account is active.
Deletion: You can request the deletion of your account and data at any time via the App settings. Upon deletion, we remove your personal identifiers within 30 days. We may retain fully anonymized, non-reversible data for statistical research.
6. Important Disclaimers
6.1. Not a Medical Device
Vital Edge is for educational and informational purposes only. The "Biological Age" score and AI recommendations are estimates based on statistical correlations. The App does not diagnose, treat, or cure any disease. Always consult a doctor before making significant lifestyle changes.
6.2. AI Limitations
Generative AI is experimental technology. While we validate our "bounded" intervention choices, the AI may occasionally produce inaccuracies ("hallucinations"). You should verify all health advice.
